Baldwin Street, Bristol, BS1 1NR


Conveniently located on Baldwin Street in Bristol’s city centre, this award-winning, family-run restaurant specialises in fresh Italian cuisine, and is a great spot for a corporate Christmas lunch. The wine list, which has been commended several times at the Bristol Good Food Awards, is reason alone to visit. The Christmas menu features a range of mouth-watering dishes, including the restaurant’s own take on traditional roast turkey (stuffed with provolone and spinach).

Located in a beautiful Grade I listed building, this popular eatery has recently been revamped and is a great venue for larger parties (it seats 140 guests). The classic Christmas menu includes a delicious selection of dishes including slow-cooked beef in red wine sauce; and roast turkey with chestnut-stuffed thigh, slow-roasted vegetables, bread sauce and Port gravy. To round things off, the lunch is served with crackers, mince pies and coffee.

This small, independent group of café bars is ideal for a relaxed, informal gathering. The venues are homely (think comfy leather sofas and vintage furnishings) and offer an interesting alternative to the standard Christmas-lunch menu. As well as festive pizzas and spiced turkey burgers, Grounded boasts a range of locally brewed beers and ciders. There are also gluten-free and vegan options available.

A cosy pub in the heart of historic Bath, The Cork is a great spot for those looking for some lunchtime entertainment. As well as a fantastic festive lunch menu, the venue has private karaoke pods that can be hired out for parties – a great way to keep staff amused. Each pod has a television with a sound system linked up. The large pod (ten to 15 people) costs £40 for two hours and the smaller pod (eight to ten people) costs £30 for two hours.

Overlooking beautiful Wiltshire countryside, The Wraxall is a contemporary brasserie and bar with delightful views of Cumberwell’s golf course. The venue has a fantastic (and extremely reasonable) festive lunch menu, which is served all day, and includes dishes such as traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings; braised shank of lamb with parsley mash and mulled wine jus; and baked fillet of cod with a lemon and chive crust, served with tomato and caper sauce.

A buzzing arts and music space, The Gallimaufry will be serving a selection of delicious festive ‘Galli’ plates from November. The mouth-watering menu includes whisky-cured salmon with apple, beetroot and dill; pheasant terrine with orange and chicory sauce; and sticky-date pudding with salted-caramel ice cream.

Dating back to 1849, Bristol’s famous Lido is one of the oldest-surviving outdoor pools in the UK, making it a unique and stylish setting for an office Christmas lunch. The venue’s award-winning restaurant, which overlooks the renovated Victorian pool, is absolutely stunning. The seasonally inspired menu is available between noon and 2.45pm every day, and is updated daily. There is also an extensive wine list with a range of excellent vintages.
